Well after all the hullabaloos and failed attempts to move on and get a new love, it looks like Paris Hilton is after all coming back in the arms of her ex-boyfriend, Doug Reinhardt.

Sources close to the couple confirmed that our dear heiress and the former The Hills star are trying to work things out now.

“The time apart has been good,” a source shares telling about the couple’s less than two months of break-up. “He's kept a low profile, and he's been doing everything he can to impress her and get her back.”

To recall, the two has called it quits in early June after dating for six months.

Right after the split Paris has been linked to other men that included soccer ace Cristiano Ronaldo and Little Britain star, David Williams while Doug has been off the radar.

Asked about the two’s real score now, the source said: “They're still figuring it out.” Hinting that the couple are not back together…yet.

However, on Monday, Doug turned to his Twitter account and wrote: “What an amazing weekend with my beautiful girlfriend. I love her so much!”

So I guess that says it all, ayt?

Not a neophyte on sex video scandals, Paris Hilton has a word of advice for young girls who are being pressured by their boyfriends to make ‘adventurous’ sex tapes: a big DON’T!

imdb.com reports that our dear heiress who was once involved in a sex video scandal with ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon in 2003 has vowed to prevent other girls from agreeing to film themselves “engaging in sex acts to please their lovers”.

Paris was quoted saying, “I want young girls to never put themselves in that situation I was in. Don't ever let someone talk you into doing something you don't want to do.”

“I was humiliated, embarrassed and in shock that it happened. It wasn't my fault, it was something that someone did to me, so I've just learned to be a strong woman and nothing can hurt me at this point.”

“It was definitely very painful. When you trust someone and love someone - for them to do that to you, it's really hard. It's something that bothers me every day,” Paris added.

Well for someone who’s been there (and has done that), it’s good that Paris is taking the initiative to prevent other girls like her to get through in that same situation she’s been – I would’ve thought misery loves company.

I just would like to comment on that line where she said that the scandal wasn’t her fault and just something that someone did to her. Frankly, I believe that the moment she said ‘yes’ to film what they did was already a fault.

But then again, humiliating the sex video may be, I believe it played a big factor in skyrocketing Paris’s name in Hollywood.

Most people, if not all, say that everybody deserves a second chance in life. In Britney Spears’ case, will a second (third, fourth, and fifth) chance do magic in her deteriorating career?

Well I guess Brit should start getting herself hair restoration in philadelphia by Dr Pistone now as rumors have it that the (has been) pop princess and new aunt to Jamie Lynn’s newborn daughter, Maddie Briann will have an encore to her disastrous 2007 MTV Video Music Awards performance this year.

Now you might be one of those who’ll react negatively to this, as the thought of her performance last year still sends shiver and disgust to me actually, but if Brit will really get her second chance on stage for MTV is a sure win-win situation to both parties. Of course Britney will have a yet another so-called chance to prove she still got it while MTV will have the ratings again.

But really, do you think Britney will be able to redeem herself from that hideous intermission number last year? Do you believe she still has that ‘magic’?

It’s Always Good to Have a Musical Boyfriend

Since the server of the blogging network I am working with has been down for more than a week now, that also goes to say that it has been more than a week that I haven’t written about our dear heiress, Paris Hilton.

Curious as to how far I’ve already been left behind keeping up with the latest of the famous/infamous socialite, I just found out that Paris is already working on the theme song of her upcoming reality TV show, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. And if that is not enough news, her boyfriend for four months, Good Charlotte guitarist, Benji Madden is helping her out doing the song.

Of course we all know that Paris just didn’t have the musicality in her. But having Benji by her side, who knows he can do some magic with her girl’s ‘lack of talent’. With their great looks and superstar status, who will argue when I say these two are the most famous celebrity couples in Hollywood?

But aside from their physical features (considered one of the most perfect in this world), you know the other thing that makes this couple special? – Their good hearts.

From doting parents to their children, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh Nouvel (biological daughter), Pax, and their coming twins, the two has also been actively involved in various social issues, both domestically and internationally.

And today in People magazine, it has just been reported that the couple is donating a whooping $1million to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict to help the American and Iraqi children suffering from the war.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Here’s another name you should add to your celebrity baby names list this year, Maddie Briann.

Who is Maddie Briann? Well she’s the newborn baby girl of Britney Spears’ little sister, Jamie Lynn and her partner, Casey Aldridge.

The 17-year-old Zoey 101 star who became controversial for getting pregnant at a very young age finally gave birth last Thursday (June 19) at a hospital in Mississippi to a bouncing 7 pounds, 11 ounces baby girl.

Baby Maddie Briann joins the roster of celebrity babies this year that include Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s Harlow, Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman’s Max Liron, and Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s Max and Emme.

Whew! That’s quite a number of names there and about a number to come, too including the coming twins of superstar couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

I am just glad Jamie Lynn has finally given birth and is set to start a new phase of her life. Wishing her all the best in motherhood.

After Ashlee Simpson and her husband, Pete Wentz have denied speculations of the first’s pregnancy, the newlyweds seems to have ‘taken-back’ what they just said and confirm that indeed, they are expecting their first child.

In Pete’s website he writes,

“While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child.”

“This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family.”

Now this is one of those news that could really send me rolling my eyes. Like what does this pair expect? People jumping for joy as they finally just confirmed what they’ve just denied?! Surely they know that the people are smart enough to have known all along.

After months of painting the town red by being in-love, rumor has it that George Clooney and his girlfriend for a year, Sarah Larson have split up.

However, the actor’s rep, Stan Rosenfield would not comment on the issue saying, “We do not comment on George's personal life.”

George and Sarah met in Las Vegas almost four years ago and went out in public as a pair at Venice and Deauville film festivals in September last year.

Now if that rumor has any truth in it, then it’s sad news since I really thought (and hoped) that Sarah’s the one for George.

And now, the search is over, David Cook wins!

After outlasting 11 contestants and going neck-to-neck with young David Archuletta, the 25-year-old Texas-born rocker has captured the hearts of the American people and won by 12 million votes (a world record!).

This sure is one good day for me! I am close to tears watching a teary Cook singing his victory song, Time of My Life. I’ve been jumping in glee upon his ‘proclamation’.

Now here’s another couple to add the list of Hollywood’s newlyweds of 2008. – Jessica Alba and Cash Warren.

Yep, after getting engaged for five months, the mom-to-be and her long-time boyfriend has been confirmed by People to have gotten married last Monday in the Beverly Hills courthouse's ceremony room.

The wedding was said to be casual that both Jess and Cash were just clad in a casual clothes; the Fantastic 4 star wearing “a long blue dress and her hair back in a ponytail” and Cash on a white shirt and brown pants. Aside from the two of them, nobody else was reported to have attended the wedding.

Well I understand the two wanting to keep their getting married a secret (just like Beyonce and Jay-Z). I guess aside from Paris Hilton stars now just want to take a break from the media especially if it concerns their private lives. And as a fan of Jessica Alba I truly am happy for the star who’s now a wife and soon to be a mother.

Well it looks like Hollywood is in for a red year as more and more stars tie the knot (Ashlee and Pete, Mariah and Nick) if not get engaged. Here’s another pair to add the list of the “two less lonely people in the world.” – Ellen DeGeneres and her long time girlfriend, Portia de Rossi.

In an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the host who just turned 50 announced the big news just after the “California's Supreme Court struck down a law banning gay marriage.”

Well until our cable was up, I wasn’t really too aware who Ellen is. But as I started watching her show, I am always in awe with her brilliance in hosting and stand up comedy. And while I used to be really prude with this matter, I really wish all the best for Ellen and Portia.

After the much-talked about engagement (ring and pregnancy rumor included), pop singer Ashlee Simpson and her Fall Out Boy boyfriend, Pete Wentz finally tied the knot last Saturday in an intimate ceremony.

Ashlee was said to have worn a Monique Lhuillier (go Pinay!) ivory lace wedding gown and jewels by William Noble as she exchanged vows to Pete in front of 150 guests in her parents area home. Her sister, Jess served as her maid of honor.

Parvati Shallow is Survivor Micronesia Winner

As a big Survivor fan, I must say this season is by far the best one I’ve ever seen in the show. Women dominated and outwitted the men, blindsides now and then, number of injuries jut kept arising, and of course a love affair that blossomed. Surely, "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites" is one season I can never forget.

And as the season closed last Monday (Philippine schedule) I was a bit disappointed yet satisfied with how the season ended. Well of course I would’ve want Amanda to win the title as sole survivor but then again the girl didn’t have the talent to talk it out to the jury. And so she was outlasted by her good friend, Parvati Shallow who took home the title and won the $1million.

What I couldn’t forget most on the show was the way Ozzy faced the two on the final tribal council and professed his love for Amanda. I love Ozzy but I love him more for that. I can’t help but scream in joy with that mushy scene. Super!

Well it used to be my man Ozzy, the man who can do everything, but then he got booted out two weeks ago for being so dumb not playing his idol (blunder!).

Now, with only seven of them left, who do you think deserves the $1Million and the chance to be called Survivor: Micronesia – Fans VS Favorites Ultimate Survivor?

My thoughts:

Eric: We all know the only reason Eric’s still on the game is because of Ozzy so I guess his only hope to make it to the finals is if he gets hold of the immunity necklace for long.

James: I would absolutely love to see James winning! For me, he’s the only one among those remaining castaways who played a clean game. I love him (next to Ozzy)! However, I think he’ll be the one to be sent home for another injury.

Amanda: I think Amanda’s game play has always been to be a tag-along. If it worked for her the previous season, I don’t think it will still work now. This girl’s just got to learn to stand on her own.

Parvati: Oh the she-devil. She’s actually this devious already in Cook Islands, although she hasn’t had the chance to make it that far on the game. I think this time the luck’s on her.

Cirie: I would never want to see Cirie winning. From the start, she’s always been cunning and scheming.

Alexis: Girl power to the max! I must say Alexis is a strong contender to become this season’s winner. She’s playing a good combination of physical and social strategy.

Natalie: I just hate Natalie’s guts. Plain and simple.

Joel Madden is back in the arms of Nicole and Harlow

Unlike his twin brother, Benji, Joel Madden probably had a tough time being apart from his 3-month-old daughter Harlow and partner Nicole Richie for their band’s European tour. Well it sure is hard performing for the Good Charlotte whilst you are thinking about your new-born, right?!

But thanks for some break, after a month traveling throughout Europe, Joel is back in Los Angeles to make up time with his baby Harlow and Nicole.

The happy family was spotted making their way through the LAX airport yesterday with baby Harlow having that loving gaze for her Pa. Awww…

Wonder where they are heading?! Hmmm… I hope they’ll head to New York and check out the various NYC Attractions there. You know, just the three of them getting themselves a guided tour like the CitySights NY and enjoying the sights and the company of each other in New York City.

Can you imagine baby Harlow enjoying a helicopter ride or spending time with her mom and dad via a Manhattan cruise or double decker sightseeing? That would sure be a lot of fun!

Well I know I’m getting a bit too excited with this family’s get-together. But I just can’t help being glad to see this family complete after a month or so of being apart from each other.

I wish they have fun with this little break.

After lovebirds, Ashlee Simpson and rocker boyfriend Pete Wentz announced their engagement several days ago, rumors have it that Jessica’s little sister may already be expecting a baby now.

This speculations went stronger when Ashlee was pictured from LAX airport that somehow ‘seems’ to be hiding a baby bump. Or is she?!

Well to answer back these rumors of Ashlee being knocked up, her future husband wrote an email to MTV today that said:

“There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. ... I mean really, this is crazy. ... I mean we're engaged, that's true, and happy about it.”

I also think this cover has just had too much of Photoshop done on it as Gwyn just looked so skinny and almost ghost-like.

I saw this video on YouTube pertaining to a coming episode of Oprah show on May featuring gifted children probably from all over the world. In my surprise, I saw Charice Pempengco on the teaser! Dang! This girl is definitely on her way to stardom!

First, on Ellen DeGeneres Show, and now Oprah?! FYI, Oprah’s the number 1 show in the world! Anyone who guests on appears on this show is most likely to get famous. And with Charice’s brilliant voice, this would be it!

For a 15-year-old this Pinay sure has a very bright future ahead of her in terms of international success.

I may not be a big fan of her but I sure am proud of all her success and recognitions. Of course she brings with her the name of my country. Congratulations girl! Keep up the good work!

Well in case you haven’t figured it out yet. That’s actually one of the Olsen twins (though I’m not sure whether it’s Mary-Kate or Ashley). And no, they aren’t into some cult or something not even on a Halloween party either.

Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson works together for the new James Bond film

No, they aren’t the one to play in the movie. But superproducer Mark Ronson and English songwriter and singer Amy Winehouse are teaming up to write and record the song to be featured in the new James Bond film.

The song to be included in the 22^nd Bond movie, Quantum of Solace would probably be the biggest song in these two’s careers.

Yet, if I may be really honest, until this post, I actually do not know who Amy Winehouse is. Well I’ve heard her name and saw her photos on various blogs I bump into but I didn’t really care reading those news about her. Why? It’s just that her beehive hair and eccentric look ain’t something that interests me.

But I guess I’m interested now.

Anyway, back to Amy, I really do hope this break would be a good diversion from her self-destructive behavior. With her brilliant talent, it’s a pity that she’s just turning herself into a poster girl for drug abuse.

You see, despite having all the success in her music career, Amy has always been looking disturbed and “suicidal”. I guess being a chronic drug abuser that she is brings her a life that’s so uncelebrity-like; chaotic and so unattached. I know she’s been to a rehab to help her get over this but if it really didn’t help much, she should try seeking help at Renaissance Malibu. The healing center and treatment facility is established especially to people like Amy.

Although I’m not a fan of this ‘sicko’, I really hope she gets through this and continue moving forward with her career starting with this Bond break…

After the lovebirds, Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z went to Scarsdale, NY to get a marriage license it wouldn’t be a surprise that the two are finally exchange their vows now.

Sources tell People that “A lot of their friends are booking hotel rooms.” Earlier today, workers erected a wide white tent atop the building and 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand was also ordered for a ‘big party.’

Well if this ain’t a wedding ceremony, then I don’t know what is. This should really be it, huh?!

Naomi Campbell says ‘tata’ to jail

After being arrested yesterday for spitting on an officer at terminal 5 in Heathrow airport, supermodel Naomi Campbell was released from jail on bail.

This isn’t actually the first time that the Naomi was put to jail. In fact, she’s been in and out of it a lot of times that people would think she’s enjoying the feeling to be in prison.

According to reports, Naomi was just too upset when two of her bags were lost when she was on a British Airways flight bound for Los Angeles. British Airways then decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight and called the police officer to eject her.

Well I guess we can’t blame Naomi to be too upset for this. Even those who’ve had anger management courses would still be pissed with this kind of service.

Keanu Reeves is back for Street Kings

Among the hunks and cuties in Hollywood, I must say that it’s with Keanu Reeves that I actually grew up fantasizing with. Since high school I’ve already been following his movies and swooning over his charisma and sex appeal.

Anyway, after some rest in the big screen, my ‘first love’ is back with his latest movie from Fox Searchlight, “Street Kings”.

The movie is about veteran LAPD cop, Tod Ludlow played by Keanu who finds investigating quite difficult after the death of his wife. When evidence points at him in the murder of his fellow officer, Ludlow is forced to go up against the cop culture that he’s been a part. This then leads him to question the loyalties of everyone around him.

Interesting story. I’d definitely catch this movie as soon as it’s shown here.

Anyway, other stars in the film include Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, and Chris Evans (the cutie guy in Fantastic 4).

Ramiele Malubay voted out in American Idol

I have never really been a big American Idol fan. Although I must admit the only time I had so much fun watching the show was when two Filipinas, Jasmine Trias and Camille Velasco made to the top 12. Well, that and now, since another one from my country made too for this season in the person of Ramiele Malubay.

Sadly, after a month in the finals, the petite 20-year-old was eliminated from the contest last night. Doing her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind” I guess America agreed to AI judge, Simon Cowell when he said Ramiele’s performance is forgettable.

Sigh, this is really a sad news for me. But of course she’s already famous on her own. Making it to the finals is already big enough.

Tuesday, April 1, 2008, the two were spotted arriving at Scarsdale Village Hall shortly after it opened to get their marriage license.

“It was just the two of them,” A source of People relays.

“They were very polite and smiling as they filled out the paperwork. They were holding hands for a while. They looked really happy.”

Well now that the papers are already ready, we’ll just then have to wait for the exact date as the two of the music industry’s biggest stars exchange vows. This report was actually claimed by the actor’s family.

In the case of Star Magazine’s report pertaining to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s supposed wedding, this word would sure fit as sources like People, Ok!, and Us magazines report that no wedding ever took place in New Orleans or any other place for that matter.

According to a source of Us Magazine, “Bottom line, they aren't even in New Orleans.” So this just makes the report from Star an oh-so crap one.

Anyway, tied or not, I guess Brad and Ange are already happy together with their family. The “wedding” would just have to be something to feed the hungry media.

And as for Star, this kind of news should be taken cautiously.

I must admit that I am one of those who probably grew up watching Katie Holmes bloomed and blossomed in Dawson’s Creek. And when I learned about her marrying Tom Cruise, I was really glad and thought that she’s lucky to have caught the heart of the top gun.

However, as time pass by, I’m beginning to wonder if Katie made the right decision of marrying such a high-profile celebrity.

In an article of Star, Katie was reported to have collapsed while having lunch at L.A.’s Joan’s on Third.

Halle Berry gives birth to a baby girl… finally

Two days ago, I was browsing over some entertainment blogs and I saw this photo of Halle Berry with a super big belly visiting a friend in California. I was about to write a post about it and ask when she’s giving birth since her pregnancy looks so forever. Well I guess I need not write about that anymore.

The Oscar, Emmy, and Razzie winner finally gave birth yesterday at 10:17 a.m. at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital to a healthy baby girl.

This is her first born to 32-year-old model, Gabriel Aubry.

But wait, what’s the baby’s name?!

Sources say that the couple hasn’t thought of a name yet. Come on!

Anyway, congratulations guys!

Steve-O learns from his experience

Are we hearing remorse there? Because surely, Steve-O do really sound like he’s really sorry for not taking care of his health.

Actually, although I may sound so knowing there, truth is, I’ve never heard of the guy until now that he hit the news for a 72-hour psychiatric hold in the hospital. I had to do a little research to get to know this controversial guy.

Born Stephen Gilchrist Glover, I’ve learned that Steve-O is in fact a famous personality known for being such a daredevil with his reckless behavior and outlandish stunts on the TV series Jackass.

Having fame for this kind of behavior, I guess Steve-O took being such a jackass seriously that he also got himself so hooked in to drugs. Sadly though, he now realizes that life is all about karma. – What goes around comes around. And using his own words, “an ironic 'eye for an eye' situation”. Now he’s ripping the ‘fruits’ of his self-destructive behavior.

Gee, 72 hours in psychiatric hold and now been reported to be extended to 14 days, what would Steve-O do there? He really should learn from this and take no more drugs but Tamiflu.

Well at least Tamiflu could help him if ever he gets influenza. With Oseltamivir as its active ingredient, the medicine sure is great against flu virus.

Poor Steve-O, now all he can do is inspire the others to be NOT like him.

Harry Potter conclusion movie to be split into two flicks

If you consider yourself a fan of Harry Potter, then this news is for you.

According to sources:

The “Harry Potter” books may be complete, but there are still three full length films coming, to make a whopping eight Harry Potter movies in total. The movie version of the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will be in theaters at the end of this November. And the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which was chock full of plot that sped by at a breakneck pace, is going to be split up into two films in order to cover all the stuff that happened. (Rowling has not definitively ruled out another book, saying “I will not say never, but I have no plans to write an eighth book.” She later clarified that if she did write another book it wouldn’t be for at least another 10 years.)

So is this good or bad news? I guess I’ll go with the first. For people like me who wasn’t able to read any of the books, I think it’s great to have a film version that would cover a wider grasp of the things that happened. And who knows? I might as well get encouraged to start reading the books.

After all, all I need is a little curiosity and encouragement.

Now this is one great and noble news; probably better than hearing how the Philippine Peso is getting stronger.

Anyway, Drew, who’s blooming and inspired these days made the big announcement on Oprah Winfrey Show with her sweetheart, Justin Long watching with the audience (sweet!).

In the interview, Vogue’s latest cover girl has this to say:

“I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child’s life,” Drew said. “It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future. Indeed, life is not that bad for Britney after all.

After getting in and out of the hospital these past weeks and daddy Spears took charge of her assets, it may seem that the world is really hard on the Pop Princess. However, Brit sees light after she was allowed to spend time with her sons for three hours with her sons, Preston and Jayden.

“After lawyers for Spears and Kevin Federline reached a visitation agreement friday, the pop star saw her children Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, for the first time since Jan. 3.”

This is good news. And Britney has to thank her father for taking charge of everything quite so well.

Hopefully this would inspire Britney to straighten her path and become a better mom from now on.

If only for this day, please allow to me to talk about something far from the pop culture (at least technically). Well since Saturday night, I have been really upset and of course sad that I (along with other freelancers) am not anymore needed for the web directory I am working on.

It was of course a lamentable news. For one, I considered that job my bread and butter; my blood and water. It used to be my savior from various debts. Now, I am just one of those who would badly need bad credit loans.

Sigh, it is at least a consolation to know that more and more people in the US are considered as “bad credit” consumers like me.

Sources say that the veteran actor looked really upset that he kept glaring over Lindsay’s table.

Heath Ledger's cause of death now confirmed

Probably one of the things that brought sad news to me in Hollywood was Heath Ledger’s sudden death last January 22. As a fan I believe that actors with so much potential like Heath are big loss in the entertainment industry. That time, Heath’s death was suspected to due to drug abuse.

Well that was two weeks ago. Now, just days after Heath was buried, the New York City’s Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that the actor’s death was caused by an accidental mixture of prescription drugs. What?! I thought he died due to excessive playing of online casino games?

According to the report, Heath died due to the acute intoxication combining the effects of Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Diazepam, Temazepam, Alprazolam, and Doxylamine.

Hmmm… I honestly don’t know exactly what those words mean but I understand that Heath died for excessive intake of prescription drugs. Well at least the report also mentioned the manner of the death as accident; at least we know Heath really didn’t commit suicide, right?!

Paula Abdul taking Brit’s footsteps

Well hopefully she doesn’t turn out to be as crazy as Brit. But with Paula’s Super Bowl performance, it somehow puts you into thinking if she’d ever get into American Idol audition with that show of “talent”.

Watching the video, I think the show was just horrendous (as Simon often say)! It was downright ugly!

The song she lip synched entitled “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow”, was rumored to be sung by another person. Whaaaaat????!!! Choreography wise, I guess Paula’s a bit losing the magic, too. Tsk tsk tsk… Now this isn’t good for an AI judge.

Anyway, although the choreographer and singer seemed to belied her job titles, I guess it’s still a consolation that hers was actually better than Brit’s VMA performance, right?!

Britney’s Dad takes a new role

Well poor Britney… no boyfriend, no sons, and now away from her fortune.

As the diagnosed bipolar singer is undergoing to a yet another treatment, the court ruled that her father Jamie Spears and a lawyer will be the one to take control on the singer’s affairs, including her $40 million fortune.

Reports said that until February 14, Brit’s dad will remain as the co-conservator of her estate. And despite the singer’s “strong desire” against this, the decision has become final.

Now I guess instead of getting well, this will just make Britney more and more sick (but isn’t she already?). Too bad for her, dad wants to be in the rescue. I suggest she get a speedy recovery to get back to her fortune fast.

Spice Girls’ splitting up… again

I was actually one of those hundreds (even thousands) of people who rejoiced when the Spice Girls reunited after nine years of being a disbanded girl group. Of course, I used to be one of their biggest fans way back on my sixth grade. With their reunion, I was hoping for a bigger and longer entertainment with THE Spice Girls.

However, I guess I would have to settle entertaining myself with rugby news now that the Spice Girls announced their temporary break.

Yes, after their big comeback as a group, the Spice Girls composed of Victoria Beckham, Geri Haliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel B., and Mel C. are taking a pause (that’s hopefully just for a while) to return to their respective families and individual commitments.

The last three months, the girls have completed doing (sold out) shows in Europe and in the US. But unfortunately the tour will have to continue until the girls decided to have another “reunion”.

Now am sure a lot were sad with this news….

Ed Simons dumps Lilly Allen after miscarriage

Take Ed Simons for example. The 37-year-old Chemical Brothers star reportedly dumped 21-year old singer girlfriend Lily Allen who just had a miscarriage with their supposedly first child.

Well as someone looking for some extra cash doing posts like the celebs’ latest fashion hits and misses or news and gossips in Hollywood, it’s not that bad, really. An extra bucks for something you enjoy doing is really not bad at all.

However, blogging is actually just good for a sideline; I don’t really recommend it as a main source of income. If you really want to make something big online, then I certainly suggest you engage in some online business.

I am certainly taking my time doing this post not just because it’s news-worthy, but because I am (also) a big fan of this Australian actor.

January 22, 3:30pm, Heath Ledger was found dead in the bedroom of his Soho Apartment in Manhattan for a possible drug overdose.

“Ledger, who was in bed, did not respond when they shook him, and the housekeeper called 911. He was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m. ET.” People reported.

The 28-year old actor fathers a child from Dawson’s Creek star, Michelle Williams.

Sigh… What a sad sad news this is for an actor that seems to have so much ahead for his Hollywood career. I’m betting the next Batman movie would really sell for this news. (FYI: Heath plays the joker in the movie).

Keiffer Sutherland’s over with 48

My boyfriend’s quite a big fan of 24. So I guess he along with other fans of the TV show would be interested to know that the show’s lead actor, Kiefer Sutherland has (finally) been released from jail after serving a full 48-day sentence.

The 41-year old actor was arrested in September 25, 2007 for DUI charges. “He was pulled over at around 1:10 a.m. in West Los Angeles, where he tested over the state's legal blood alcohol limit and later released on $25,000 bail. On December 5, 2007 he was sentenced to 48 days jail.”

Wow, pretty tough for Keiffer huh?! – The bail and getting in to prison. He’s still lucky though, $25,000 was nothing for him. If it were for ‘normal’ people, it would’ve been a HUGE amount for them. Can’t seem to imagine where I’d get that sum if ever I was on his place. Sell my belongings, borrow from friends, or get myself some payday loans (that would be an emergency situation!).

Well lesson learned, don’t drink and drive; if you can’t, just don’t get caught. ***grins***

Now, let’s get those writers’ strike over with so we can get back to 24!

While I’d do everything to meet and greet Orlando Bloom, I’d probably also do everything to be Jessica Alba (I wish!). I am really a big fan!

Anyway, the newly-engaged and mother-to-be was spotted shopping for furniture for her new home with Hollywood-renowned interior designer, Kari Whitman. Jess then later on headed to Harmony Lane to prepare for an appearance in the Sundance Film Festival.

You know, stars like Jessica really amaze me. As famous celebs, it’s a wonder they still have time to personally shop for their homes and their wardrobes. I mean you know she could’ve easily asked somebody to do the shopping for her, do a phone call, or just do the shopping online.

It’s no news that I have this HUGE crush on Orlando Bloom. I soooo love him that I’d probably do anything (and yup, everything!) just to meet him!

So when I stumbled upon this photo of him in Nepal for a charity work, I know, this has just to be in THIS blog.

With his role as an international ambassador for UNICEF, Orlando, 30, visited an ethnic Tharu children and women at the Sayapatri Community Organization in Nepal.

Wearing flower garlands and a red “tikka” mark on his forehead as a symbol of being welcome, (the love of my life) Orlando sure showed having a great time helping and just being with the locals.

It’s just really good and heartwarming to see big stars like Orlando share and do something for a good cause. Well I guess that’s how a ‘real’ pirate should be.

And if only for that kiss from Orlando, I’d love to trade places with the kid. ***sigh***

Idol getting boring (?!)

The search for the next American Idol has just begun.

January 16, Wednesday, the world has witnessed the premiere of Season 7 of the American Idol. Well I was only able to catch the last half of it. But I still think that the audition part is my most favorite in the show (yep, more than the finale).

As usual nerds, weirdos, ordinary, and extraordinary all lined up to show off their talent (sometimes hideous ones) to get the chance to be the next AI.

But while the return of the show remained on the top list, sources say that its premiere has relatively fewer people who tuned in compared to the previous seasons. Hmmm… is this a sign that more are slowly losing interest with the show?

Well maybe the writers’ strike could help with the show’s ratings.

7 p.m.: Britney is scheduled time to hand over custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 15 months, to Kevin Federline’s bodyguard.

8:30 p.m.: Police arrive at Spears’ Beverly Hills home after being called about a “custodial dispute,” LAPD officer Jason Lee said. Shortly after, Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, arrives.

9 p.m.: Kaplan leaves Spears’ home. Spears’ lawyer — who filed a request to be released from representing the pop star Wednesday — Sorrell Trope, tells Us: "In a normal case when someone shows up with a certified court order saying the kids need to be somewhere else, the police see to it that the order is obeyed. But that is in a normal case."

10:08 p.m.: News helicopters hover over Spears’ home. Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department told City News Service that Spears appeared to be under the influence of an "unknown substance."

10:50 p.m.: The fire department arrives. LAPD Officer Jason Lee tells Us: "The officers are still there. They are trying to resolve this peacefully and legally, according to the court order. They've been there since 8 p.m., and it is in regards to Britney Spears’ custody battle."

11:05 p.m.: Paramedics take a gurney and a backboard into Spears' home. CBS reports a mental evaluator was also called.

Federline and Spears pal Sam Lutfi soon arrive separately. Around time of mom's arrival, son Jayden, sucking on a pacifier, is carried into the emergency room by a police officer.

3:45 a.m.: A hospital source confirms that Spears remains under observation as a "special needs" patient.

Britney Spears loses full custody of children

Unfortunately, despite the drama that caused all the talks in TV and the Internet last night, it turns out that the California Superior Court isn’t just a fan of Britney Spears as she just lost her child-visitation rights Friday.

Following Britney’s 72-hour lockdown for a mental evaluation, the court just awarded her ex-husband, Kevin Federline the “sole legal custody and sole physical custody of the minor children.”

The written ruling after an emergency hearing further says that Britney’s “visitation with the minor children is suspended pending further order of the court.”

Oh, poor, poor, poor Brit… See, dramas just don’t work!

Britney Spears wheeled to the hospital

Oh Britney, Britney, Britney… too many Britney on the net and on TV. But I guess nothing gets more dramatic than the latest news about her. – Hospitalized.

Yep, in case the news haven’t reached you “Britney Spears was hospitalized late Thursday night after the pop star locked herself in a room with one of her children at her L.A. home and refused to hand him over to ex-husband Kevin Federline.”

It was found out that Britney was due to turn-over her sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, Thursday at 7 p.m. Kevin’s bodyguard was supposed to pick up the kids but the pop star refused to turn-over the kids.

“According to police, officers responded around 8 p.m. to a call about a custodial dispute regarding Britney Spears's children.” People reported.

Furthermore, “While officers were on the scene, they observed Ms. Spears under the influence of an unknown substance.”

And if it weren’t just an ordinary drama, there came fire trucks, two ambulances, and a police helicopter that surrounded the place in addition to the multiple officers.

Wow! This would surely win Best Drama in a Reality! Boo... I mean GO BRIT!

Young Pinay Hits The Ellen Degeneres Show

Well it seems 15-year-old Charice Pempengco’s been banging the media lately for her appearance in The Ellen Degeneres Show. And of course, since another Pinay hits Hollywood, expect every other Pinoys to be raving about her.

I’ve first seen her in the Little Big Star, a singing contest hosted by Sarah Geronimo. Back then I wasn’t really a big fan of the young singer, her voice’s really impressive, but hey I prefer Sam Concepcion’s star appeal better than hers (the latter emerged as the ultimate champion later on).

Yes I wasn’t a fan of hers then, and guess what; I’m still not a fan until now. But since every blog I stop by I see a video of hers in that very astounding performance at the high-rating The Ellen Degeneres Show, so I guess I might as well join with the flow.

Man, the first time I saw the video, I was like “Wow…what a voice! Just don’t let her speak…” But then she did, and I was just controlling myself to suppress laughter with her ‘newly learned’ twang. She probably did a lot of practice there huh?!

Oh well she got a standing ovation, who cares how she speaks after all?

Surely, everybody will be in awed as this Cindy Crawford look-alike actress gets naked tomorrow on the streets of Los Angeles for her PETA billboard.

“It’s very tasteful,” Mendes just told me. “It’s all in fun. It’s got a flirtatious, fun spirit about it. It’s not like come hither or anything like that.”

The 33-year-old starlet is talking about her new “Fur? I’d Rather Go Naked” campaign for animal rights group PETA. She'll unveil the poster tomorrow afternoon on celebrity-filled Robertson Boulevard, just down the street from the Ivy restaurant. When Jamie Lynn Spears debuted in the entertainment industry, she was under the shadows of her elder sister’s superstardom, after all she was known to all as Britney’s little sister.

When big sister, Brit went into a trashy marriage, trashy behavior, and later on doing trashy performances, everybody else were hoping that Jamie would at least vindicate her sister’s image in the public, or at least take a different path.

But when the news about Jamie’s pregnancy broke out it seems like the younger Spears idolizes her sister so much to be following her footsteps. Now don’t get me wrong, a baby is always a gift no matter what its consequences are. But Jamie is just 16, still 16 to take all the responsibilities that come with being a mother.

Yes, they have the money and resources to provide everyTHING the baby would need, but is Jamie and boyfriend Casey ready to provide all the emotional security their coming bub mostly needs? Wouldn’t there be another Brit-K Fed custody case in years (or months) to come?

I really thought Jamie has learned from Britney’s experience. It breaks my heart seeing this photo of Jamie in all her youthfulness and thinking that she will soon be rearing her own kiddo. I guess the Spears should come up with a reality show called Trash.

Britney Spears’ little sister Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant with long time boyfriend, Casey Aldridge as the father.

The 16-year-old Zoey 101 star is already 12 weeks along her pregnancy as confirmed by her and her mother. "It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," Jamie Lynn told OK! "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."

Britney’s Reaction:

Britney found out about the news the same time that everybody else found out.

As a family friend told People, "This is going to kill her," "In the end, she'll be supportive, but this is a big shock."

Brit is 10 years older to sister Jamie Lynn.

Lynne Spears, the two stars’ mom was said to release a parenting book but was delayed indefinitely due to Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy.

The book was scheduled to be out in public in the spring of 2008 but was put on hold just last week.

The plot:

Now the entire population of New York City -- and perhaps the world -- has been transformed into carnivorous bloodsuckers that fear the light and live solely to spread their contagion to any remaining living creature that crosses their path. It's been three years since civilization came to an end, and the loneliness has taken a devastating toll on Neville. This type of plot is not my thing but with a good script and brilliant actors and director, I think I am watching "I am legend." I would prefer some politics and dark horror -- the devils and satan type. Wildly imaginative viruses and stuff don't bring as much fear as getting faced with the silhouette of a horned and tailed creature giving out a boisterous and blasphemous laugh.

Dan Fogelberg dies at age 56

We share the same first name and I am his fan. He helped define the soft rock era with hits like “Leader of the Band” and “Same Old Lang Syne.” Last Sunday, at age 56, the singer succumbed to cancer.

Posted in his website: “Dan left us this morning at 6:00 a.m. He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.”

Showcasing the brilliance in simplicity, Fogelberg's music influenced a number of artists including fellow sensitive singer-songwriters James Taylor and Jackson Browne. He scored several platinum and multiplatinum records during the 70's and 80's. Fogelberg’s songs tended to have a weighty tone, reflecting on emotional issues in a serious way. Nonetheless, he said they did not represent his personality.

With a strategic mindset, the Utah-native came victorious after outwitting, outplaying, and outlasting his fellow castaways for 39 days; and of course after convincing the jury that he once lied to and backstabbed.

Asked by OK! Magazine on how he plans to spend his hard-earned dollar, the openly gay champ just said, “I’m going to enjoy that money!" "I’m going to go to Disneyland, buy a car, get a Merry Christmas for my family, invest and go back to school.”

Well Todd may not be my Survivor favorite but he indeed knocked all of them out. Watching through the season, Todd definitely manipulated the whole thing. The members of the jury sat there because of him, and the other members of the final three reached through the end because of him, too.

Courtney Yates, the 26-year-old New York waitress who was more famous of her boney figure during the season was fell second to Todd. The gal’s I’m-just-surprised-why-I-haven’t-been-voted-out-yet attitude brought here to the most coveted top three spot as she was never a physical nor mental threat to anybody in the game.

While 23-year-old L.A. based former hiking guide, Amanda Kimmel was on the third place. Compared to Courtney, Amanda truly deserves to be on the final three as she was smart enough to make an alliance with Todd and win two immunity challenges during the game.

This one’s one of the best seasons I’ve seen throughout the Survivor history. To Todd and all the others, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

The Golden Compass

Religious controversy: this seems to be the film's marketing scheme. It worked well for the Da Vinci Code so don't blame New Line Cinema for imploring the same stratagem.

The Golden Compass is a fantasy film based upon the first novel in Philip Pullman's trilogy His Dark Materials. At $180 million, it is one of New Line's biggest-budget projects ever.

The story involves Lyra, an orphan living in a fantastical parallel universe in which the dogmatic dictatorship of the Magisterium threatens to dominate the world. When Lyra's friend is kidnapped, she travels to the far North in an attempt to rescue him and rejoin her uncle.

Before The Golden Compass's release, it received criticism from secular organizations and fans of His Dark Materials for the dilution of the religious elements from the novels, as well as from religious organizations, particularly the U.S. Catholic League, for perceived anti-Catholic themes.

The plot (Wikipedia):

There are infinitely many parallel universes; eleven-year-old Lyra Belacqua, an orphan-ward of Jordan College, Oxford, lives in one in which a person's spirit resides outside the body in the form of a "dæmon," which is visible as an animal. The story begins when Lyra and her dæmon, Pantalaimon, save her uncle, Lord Asriel, from poisoning by a representative of the Magisterium. They learn that the motive for the attempted murder was to prevent Asriel from presenting evidence that elementary particles called Dust were flowing from a parallel universe into the far North. In spite of the Magisterium's official insistence that Dust does not exist, Asriel obtains funding from the university to mount an expedition to explore the phenomenon. It is later revealed that the Magisterium is aware of Dust, which it links to original sin, and that its scientists are working on a means of inoculating children against its effects.

Shortly after Lord Asriel goes north, Lyra's friends Billy Costa and Roger disappear, and she believes that the folkloric "Gobblers" have taken them away to the North. Lyra has vowed to rescue Roger, and finds her chance when a visiting woman of great importance, Mrs. Marisa Coulter, offers to take Lyra north as her assistant. Lyra assents, but before she leaves is entrusted with a priceless object by the Master of the College: an alethiometer. Resembling a golden compass, it is a device able to reveal the answer to any question asked by the user. Although initially unable to read or understand its complex meanings, Lyra takes it with her to Mrs Coulter's flat.

Mrs. Coulter arouses Lyra's suspicion when she delays in taking her north. Lyra explores a room of the flat she was forbidden to enter, and discovers that Mrs. Coulter is head of the General Oblation Board – the real "Gobblers" who have been kidnapping children. She then returns to her bedroom to find the alethiometer in the hands of Mrs. Coulter's dæmon, the Golden Monkey. She manages to to steal it back, and flees into the streets of the city.

The "Gobblers" pursue her, but she is saved by the gyptians, a nomadic boat-people. She learns that many gyptian children like Billy have disappeared, and that the gyptians will be taking her to the North on a rescue mission. A gyptian and Serafina Pekkala, the queen of a witch clan, help her understand how to use the alethiometer.

In a Norwegian port, Lyra befriends Lee Scoresby, an aeronaut, who advises her to hire him and Iorek Byrnison, an armoured bear. She visits Iorek, who is in fact an exiled prince of the armoured bears, and uses the alethiometer to learn where the townsfolk have hidden the armour they stole from him. In return, he pledges to serve her until she has a victory.

Later in the journey north, the alethiometer guides her to Billy Costa, who has escaped from the Magisterium. She finds him dazed, and without his dæmon. With the help of Iorek, she returns Billy to the gyptians. Soon after, the group is attacked, and Lyra is captured and taken to the king of the armoured bears. She manages to trick Ragnar Sturlusson, the usurping bear-king into allowing Prince Iorek to engage him in combat for the throne. Iorek wins and becomes king of the armoured bears. He accompanies Lyra to Bolvangar, where the abducted children are held, to rescue Roger. However, they are separated when an ice bridge collapses, and Lyra chooses to continue, ignoring Iorek's instruction to wait for him and Lee Scoresby to return with the airship.

Lyra is warmly welcomed into Bolvangar. She immediately locates Roger and builds up a plan of escape. Lyra eavesdrops on a group of scientists talking with Mrs. Coulter about the experiments they do on the children, and is caught after Mrs. Coulter leaves the room. The method of preventing Dust from entering a child is to sever his or her bond to the dæmon. To silence Lyra, the scientists begin the procedure on her and Pantalaimon, but Mrs. Coulter intervenes at the last moment.

Mrs. Coulter explains that she is Lyra's mother, and that Lord Asriel is her father. When Mrs. Coulter asks for the alethiometer, Lyra deviously incapacitates her mother. Then she destroys the severing apparatus, and leads the other children out of the facility. The military guard tries to block the escape of the children, but gyptians, Iorek the armoured bear, witches, and Lee Scoresby arrive to fight them. The guard loses the battle, and most of the children return home with the gyptians.

Lyra and Roger choose to travel onward with Lee Scoresby, Iorek Byrnison, and Serafina to find Lord Asriel. Serafina foretells a great war.

The reviews point to no similar direction for The Golden Compass. At review aggregate website, Rotten Tomatoes, which divides the number of positive reviews a film has received by the total number, it has a 43% rating based on 143 reviews, with a 54% rating from selected "notable" critics. James Christopher of The Times was disappointed, praising the "marvelous" special effects and casting, but saying that the "books weave a magic the film simply cannot match" and citing a "lack of genuine drama." Chicago Sun-Times critic Roger Ebert awarded the film four out of four stars and called it "a darker, deeper fantasy epic than the Rings trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia or the Potter films. Morover, Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter predicted a "substantial" box office for the film, praising the special effects and stunts, strong storyline, viable characters and the acting.
